Help House an Animal in Need
Welcome, and we are glad you are considering fostering an animal from OneLife Rescue and Rehabilitation. We have some very special animals looking for great homes. By opening your home to a foster animal, you are freeing space for us to save more, as we can only help as many animals as we have foster homes for. We are a purely foster based rescue, which means we do not have a facility that we house our animals in. We feel that the foster based approach best sets an animal up for success in their forever home, as they have already lived within a loving, integrated family. Many ask how we can let them go, after having them as a part of our families. We ask "How can we not?" when there are so many more that need our help!
While we understand that sometimes there are special circumstances (ie: a foster not getting along with your existing pets, family illnesses, loss of job, etc.), please understand that fostering an animal is a commitment. A commitment to a particular animal for the length of the adoption process. Some animals take longer to find their forever homes, and we ask that our fosters commit to keeping them for that length of time. When a foster backs out on an animal in our program, we may not have an alternate place for them to go, since we only take in animals that we have space for.

We have three requirements for fosters to be approved for an animal in our program:
- The animal must be an inside pet. We want all of our animals to live happy, healthy and safe lives being an integrated part of a family
(living within the family dwelling).
- All current household pets (dogs and cats) must be spayed or neutered. Considering what we spend of our free time doing, we cannot
adopt to a home that could potentially contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. In a perfect world, we would love for rescue not to
be needed!
- All current household pets (dogs and cats) must be current on vaccinations. We want our adoptable pets to be entering the safest
home possible. Many of our puppies/kittens may not have had all of their boosters, because they are not old enough. We want to ensure
that their new home will not put them at risk for picking up illnesses or diseases.
Fosters will be provided with:
- Dog/Cat Food
- Crates (if needed)
- Medical Care
- Collar
- Toys/treats (when available from our Amazon Wishlist)
